See anandtech's review's about X2 processors Also be sure to check out their sectionabout AMD recommended mobo for X2 and Mobos with X2 support

Personally I would recommend you go with something like a nforce4 Ultra or SLi, from a good manufacturer such as Gigabyte or ASUS. I haven't ahd a complaint with either of those manufacturer's and their boards are pretty well kitted out.

    Hope this helps.

A nice Gigabyte (Socket 939) will do.

All those nforce4 and SLi mobos sound like they only work with nVidia video cards, or are they just optimized for them? I have an ATI Radeon 9100 which works fine without any proprietary drivers.

SLI is for nVidia cards only. However, with a regular setup, you can use ATI cards on any nForce 4 mobo, be it SLI or non-SLI.

    you're gonna need a pci-e video card, so your 9100 won't work.
