    Respect for Konqueror

Hi all - I've been having some Internet access issues which I've posted here.

Before I lost my Internet connection though, I found that Konqueror was the only way I could access the Web. It was fast, seamless and a pleasure to use. What a great piece of software! I'm thinking of sending cash to the development team

As much as I am a hardcore Firefox fan, and of course you have more websites/extensions supporting it I have to say that I think the rendering in Konqueror looks great. It is much smoother looking I think. Odd that I would think that as Firefox is without its complaints normally. Even the button schems in webpages look better. I occasionally use it, but really its the overall support of Firefox and the libraries of extensions/plugins that hold my attention.

    I don't mind Konqueror...but it's more of a backup for me...like IE in windows.

I know what you mean. I had always thought of it as a slightly crappy add-on: a file manager pretending to be a web browser. Now I think it's very good at both.

So do I, konqueror is IMO the best part of KDE...

IIRC konqueror can also use mozilla extensions, and pretend to be other browsers. I belive I saw something about konqueror translating webpages too when I used mandriva, but I can'r really remember.

Imma try it out when 3.5 comes out with Adblock. I've used it a little and it's fast and doesn't crash and slow up like Firefox

No it's good .... joinnnn ussssss, joinnnnnn usss

I have to admit its caused me a couple of problems as well. I suspect that if a web page relies heavily on javascript it might be a bit unreliable there.

I agree konqueror is really nice, i also mainly use it as a backup browser and for opening kmail links.
Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.
