| it was your review that caused me to change from my first love to my current OS's. (the only reason i even had a first love is that it wsa the first one i actually got everything working on, but i've moved on to greener pastures)

| I just hit your site and read through some reviews...kinda bounced around. I liked both the hardware reviews (sound card and video card) and was surprised that the sound card really only worked in Linux. I have been having some issues with my sound card (SB Live!) and ended up purchasing an older SB 16 PCI (still didn't solve anything, but now I have two!).
I read the review on BzFlag...very entertaining!!! Noticing that Q3A seems to run well under Linux, I may have to get my frags back on, as I used to play that game like there was no tomorrow...
Finally, I read through your slack reviews (my favorite, btw, 10.1 and 10.2), DSL and Arch...I too think DSL is great for what it is and although your Arch review is older, I think there is enough there to make me just stick to slack and be happy with it:)
Overall, good reads and I am glad I finally decided to check out your site. I will likely come back to read up on the reviews I didn't go through this afternoon...

| I think your reviews site is quite impressive, you have obviously put a lot of hard work and effort into trying out all those distros and other software. If you want my opinion (well, since you started this thread I'm going to offer it anyway :P) you could try and turn it into something bigger, setup some CMS software and get your site listed in search engines, get your reviews featured on other sites, maybe you could have user submitted distro reviews as well. I know a good web designer who I work with on a regular basis if you want his details you've got my email address
In life there will always be people that want to complain or winge about something, typically they are people who havent acheived much themselves and never will do. Learn to identify those people and make a note of disregarding absolutely everything they say... works a treat for me |

| I think your site is great, even if I sometimes don't agree with you. I consider your reviews some of the most interesting on the web. Unfortunately, some people don't have a sense of humor. All I can say is keep up the good work, and consider jasonlambert's advice. |

| Will you be reviewing Knoppix 4.0 by any chance?

There is a huge difference between TechieMoe being a plain regular user posting a review and TechieMoe being a mod posting a review. I second his opinion about Ubuntu; I don't agree with him posting his own reviews here though (unless it would be done in a dedicated review section). I think users will check them out the same, since the URL is in his sig. That's the way I started to read them, at least. They are truly entertaining, but IMHO a bit biased (speaking about the Ubuntu ones) to form a reliable view on a distro - again, he himself clearly states it's only his opinion - but people tend to follow 'authority' (he is a mod on this forum) and will probably ignore his 'this is merely my personal opinion' line.

| Reviews Aloha,
I was thinking while working out today that this site has almost everything I need ya know. Great forums, tutorials and news. I was also thinking what a great addition would be. Linux Distro reviews. Ease of use, target audience, etc. And maybe even a FAQ section. I know it takes a lot of work. I guess I am just getting excited. I see the OSS realm growing and becoming more and more common and this is awesome to me. Quality is important as is freedom and the right to use software as you see fit. Maybe it's not a good idea? Hell I don't know but I would love to see the best damn forum site on the net grow. Could be the high levels of endorphins and adrenalin in my systems too. Who knows?
Mahalo,
Edward

I cannot however keep people from making rash judgments. I've disclaimed the main page and warned folks again and again that it's just MY OPINION. It's not my fault if they take it too seriously. |

Consider that as the downside of popularity
PS: Since SuSE seems to be your distro of choice, a review about openSUSE would be nice as well. I really wonder how the change from "commercial" to "community" support will affect this distro...
