macs are great, I don't see why he wouldn't. I mean, he obviously uses linux aswell...
He doesnt even run OS X on it, stupid IMO.
why would the creator of linux use os x?
For a change prehaps? Ever think about that? He could dual boot both operating systems and he's probably got enough money to buy another box purely for linux development. OS X is like the perfect UNIX desktop OS. Just my opinion.

Is like it? So what is the perfect Unix OS then?

Just kidding. Well if Linus can't have faith in linux then who can?

    Original question

To get back to the original question, yes you can run linux on a mac. It just needs to be a PPC version. I have a G4 AGP with OS X and OS 9 on one hard drive and Yellow Dog Linux on a second hard drive and am able to choose what OS I want to use at bootup.

There were problems with FedoraCore4 not allowing a reboot on my configuration. Mandriva 2005 SE also worked.

My problem is that of a newbie trying to learn a new vocabulary and getting my LaserWriter to print in Linux.

Yeah sure, but It must get kinda boring using Linux all the time. After like nearly 13 years of using it.

actualy it is easyer than that to figure it out just look at it if it has the clear plastic shell (imac style) you can boot right from cd and run perfect i have been running fedora core 4 on my imac.
