RH/Fedora Core on a Sony VGC-RB40 (200G HD, 512 RAM w/DVD-ROM & RW) -- a big install on a big machine! Windows has been defenestrated completely. Though. . . I haven't made the migration on the laptop just yet. . . mostly laziness, but also because I'm still tinkering with the PC.

Self-taught: once I get the basics, I'm fine, but most of the essential questions (answers needed to move beyond idiot-phase) seem really stupid; once I "get it" it seems so obvious! 25. F. AZ. as if that matters. I hate Emacs.

Welcome to the Forums! While I'm glad to see that you have rejected the ways of Emacs, have you accepted vi into your heart? Or do you use one of those other false (though not quite as bad as Emacs) editors?

    :P.

But welcome! And don't be afraid to ask questions; I've had things as simple as misspelling a word that took me 2 days to figure out.

Welcome, jade. I just have to comment on your hatred of emacs. I use vi. emacs is not only a text editor, it is a religion, and I already have one. Have fun in the forum.

Hmm. . . it *is* like a religion. Maybe that's why I dislike it so intensely.
