    i was at staples (an office supply store) today and saw an adobe pack with like 4 programs in it.. it was priced at US$999.00...
    Their code will be beautiful, even if their desks are buried in 3 feet of crap. - esr

    ah i don't mind downloading like the gimp now.... see anything over 15megs is just when i begin to hate it and then i have trouble installing thing and before i know it i've donloaded it twice.

    I don't remember the names of them, but there use to be apps that were download mgr's so if the connection was lost you could pickup were you left off. i.e. if lost connection at 8 megs of 15 you dialed backup and continued on at 8 megs, you didn't have to start all over with it.

    Does any remember the names of those and what platforms they ran on for our dialup users? For Linux, Win9x/WinNT/2k/XP, Mac ? I have not used one in years so I don't have any names for you.

    This won't make it any faster but hopefully less painful.
