Ah of course, just a bit of joking. And imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I think a lot of members here are members or that other big linux forum that ends in org anyway. I know where my home is though, same place I've been getting my help for a year now

Probably learned more reading here for the last year than I did in the previous two years of tweaking by myself.
- 10-14-2005 #22Forgive my naivety, but what's the URL of that other forum? I'd like to check it out.

Hmm, that's strange, have the admins made http://www.linuxforum.com/ an illegal URL?
- 10-14-2005 #26Ah! Thanks for that. Hmmm, I think I'll keeping posting to this one. It would be tempting to go on the other one as a newbie and post something silly ... I might not be able to resist doing this

A few things:
1) linuxforums.com has never been related in anyway whatsoever to me or linuxforums.ORG
2) someone asked why i didnt register linuxforums.com; the domain was already taken when i went to register it is the answer to that one
3) Re: the similarity of the sites: it's sad that people can't actually come up with something unique and individual
4) "I didn't realize that registering here meant that you couldn't join other board" - you are welcome to join other boards (most people here belong to at least one other linux site/forum anyways) and I recognise there are some other good quality forums out there.. I would appriciate it though if you would think twice before joining ones that are a rip off of this one
but that's at your discretion.
5) This topic is locked; I have no desire to help a site that is a rip off of this one
Any further questions feel free to pm/email me.
J.
