Congrats you got it to work.

edit: i really hate suse along with most rpm based distros
Then honestly I don't see why it is in your distro list on the left, under your avatar... As does the rest of the distro's. It's the difficulties you have and conquer that make you a real linux user IMHO. Not the smooth switch. If you get desperate that quick, there is something wrong with your motivation.

Edit: isn't there decent support available for nForce4 built-in NICs? What type of NIC is it?
my parents use suse ( i just put it on there), i used to use fc3 on one of my server boxes...

there is something wrong with my motivation, i dont get motivated...

edit: the only distro that has auto detected my nforce 4 drivers has been ubunutu

Ok. I'll bite. Why is that? Philosophical or practical reasons?
What philosophical reasons are there? I didn't think installing RPMs was a matter of a philosophical nature.
I could have sworn I'd answered this already, but my post seems to have disappeared. Oh well. In response to "what philosophical reasons?" I submit to you that you'd be amazed what some Linux folk will make into a religious issue (vi/emacs, KDE/Gnome, RPM/DEB)...
    don't forget: source/binary, linspire/everything else, windows/suicide debates as well
Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
