    What do you do to out of date burn't cds

    Such as

    Slackware 10.1
    SuSE Linux 9.1
    Gentoo 2005.0

    Well, if they contain sensitive data I cut them in half with a scissors.

    Recycling is the best plan for them. It's funny this came up because I just read an article earlier this afternoon where they were talking about how landfills are filling up with them, and they aren't biodegradable.

    Are you serious? That's a little hard to do, it's probably just easier to make the thing totally unreadable by slashing across it with a knife a lot.

    I've actually kept most of my out-dated versions. The recycling seems interesting, where would you go for that? I already recycle plastic, aluminum cans and paper, so CDs would just be the next logical step.

    I leave them out of a case and I get around to playing with them when I'm not paying attention to my hands and scratching them.
