stop it with the microsoft posts

Really guys, we should stop it with all the anti-Microsoft posts. I'm getting tired of them. I just end up saying the same thing over and over again. I know Microsoft is a monopoly. I know the product activation scheme is ridiculous. And I know that all of us are aware of these things. It's like a group of democrats making the same points all the time to each other. It doesn't get anything done. This is the same reason that I don't belong to any political forums anymore. Let's just leave it at that.

I agree. I unlike most people do not hate Microsoft. I don't like Windows but I still do enjoy my XBOX and VB was a great beginner language to learn from. I don't post my hatred for Windows here because it is not constructive and the same goes for Microsoft as a company.

Maybe you could do something like a 3 strike ban if people keep on doing it from now on?

I don't make the rules, I just enforce them. That's up to J. Personally I think a ban for this sort of thing is a bit harsh.

I said something similar to this in another thread, but I ended up getting accused of trolling. There are a handful of GNU elitists who post on this board (who make up half of the anti-ms threads), to stop myself from getting banned, I tend to ignore them now. I agree with you all the way, and I think there should be a total crack down on these posts. TechieMoe has done a good job of locking these threads, but he's not logged in all the time waiting for one (joke).

Yeah, it's really tempting to jump in and reply to a thread when the subject matter is controversial, but - and I for one don't think you're trolling - like you said ... better to ignore them.

Those GNU elitists: all I can say is that since posting here a while, I've had a lot of entertainment value from this forum*. It's fun to get all these different points of view, and in general people are really friendly. When things go POP from time to time, that's a shame. Best to stay out of it

    * That 'More Cowbell' post made me laugh and gave me a good excuse to trawl through a lot of amusing sites. More please!
