Hi, Im going to buy a book to help me with learning Linux, is there anything anybody recommends?
I've looked at
'Linux in a Nutshell', Ellen Siever, et al
and
Linux for Dummies, Dee-Ann LeBlanc
They look ok, im wondering how much depth they go into. I need something progressive, that explains properley in detail about eveything, yet is easy to understand, and that is still useful once I've got to a more advanced level.
Is it worth getting a book specific to my distro as well? (Mandrake 10.1)
Thanks
PS - I know 'man' is great, and online resources are plentyfull, but some people (like me), prefer to learn from something on printed paper, rather than on-screen!

I personnaly found two books that helped me a lot in my earlier linuxing days were:
Running Linux
and
Pocket linux guide
The the first is a book which tries to look at all the aspects of linux, and a review by this site is [url=http://www.linuxforums.org/news/article-26680.html]here[url].
The second is a small handbook with an overview of linux commands one uses most often.
