    Smaller Kernel

    Hi everybody!!

does anybody know how small i can get kernel 2.4? reason im asking, im helping out with a small distro called TINY Linux and 80MB for a complete install is just too big!
we're trying to get it as small as possible, for me, the first place to start is the kernel, get the base small, the rest will follow.

also, if anybody is interested in helping out with development, let me know!! have a look at http://tiny.seul.org/en/ yes, i know, the site looks old, but we're working on it.

    thanks for your help!!

I've seen that distro, even tried it already. Keep up the work, it's a great distro for people with older hardware. Two thumbs up for the developers.

To answer your question, there are a few things you can do. Going to the kernel's website is a good start. Look here as well:
    http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/doc...b-Laptops.html
    http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/doc...ll-Memory.html

Check the how to section of the Linux Documention Project, that's where I got those two articles from.
