    Been told off :(

    Had an email this morning from my ISP telling me I am a naughty girl for breaking copyright laws It went something like this:

    We have received a Take Down notice from an organisation or individual
    which states they are the rights holder, or represent the rights
    holder, for the following material:

    Infringing Filename: Green Street Hooligans.avi

    They have informed us that a host on your network is being used for the
    distribution of the material named above without authorisation. The
    information below shows the host IP address and method by which the
    material is apparently being distributed
    I have been warned not to upload the file anymore or I will have legal action taken against me. Before anyone decides to lecture me on copyright infringment, I didn't actually download it - my 16 year old Nephew did without my knowledge. I rang my ISP and they were pretty good about explaining how not to get caught in future :P But you know the worst thing - I can't even watch the damn movie as it's in German.....

    that sucks...... and I thought they were harsh in the US

    I guess it was nice they explained about how not to get caught in the future

    In the US they would have either tried to sue you, sue your nephew's parents, or the nephew, regardless of age.

    i had one of thouse warnings aparently my next door neghboor used the wireless(yes it was open but on a vlan)

    Yeah I was surprised that they were so helpful. I have now installed Peer Guardian and am downloading several blockbuster movies right now (just kidding).

    Yeah I was surprised that they were so helpful. I have now installed Peer Guardian and am downloading several blockbuster movies right now (just kidding).
    Well, I am sure they are just low level people that don't really care, but they have to do it.
