    Linux techie, or Windows techie?

Looking through posts I noticed some people also offer advice with windows problems (ie dual booting).

Just wondered how many people here are just Linux techies, or also know as much about Windows?

I use both windows and linux but don't think I know enough about either to be called a techie.

I'm reasonably knowledgeable with MS Windows and Linux, but certainly more so toward Linux.

I think I know more about Linux then I do about Windows (I'm talking internals now), but I also think, to be a Linux techie, you need to know a whole lot more than a Windows techie does about his OS. Just a thought though... But I do think it makes sense .

I think when it comes to Windows, I could be called a techie, when it comes to Linux, an intermediate to advanced user (I hope so ).

That's how I feel as well. Other people perceive me as knowing a lot about both. In fact, I think I'm just good at solving problems.

same as jimbaloo, i tend to be more oriented towards linux, but dabble quite a bit in windows, mainly because kids use windows on their p.c.

Some people call me a Windows techie, but I don't. They just say because they don't know half of Windows lol.

Anyway: I know a lot about Windows (mainly troubleshooting) and I'm just starting with Linux, so...

    Regards,

I voted both. Most of my computing life (read as the last 10-15 years), I have been in windows...programming and a user, not to mention support at the companies I have worked.

With linux, I have only been using (sounds funny) for 9-10 months...but I have been learning a ton and feel very comfortable at this point!
