i've just had a look. it looks very good - the flame retardent page may well turn out to be worth a visit even for those who aren't interested in linux or OS's :P . i'll look forward to that.
just a small point, but you may like to change the name of mandrake to mandriva

Well, the versions of Mandrake that I reviewed were still called "Mandrake" at that time. If I ever review "Mandriva" I will make a seperate entry for it.

ok. i guess it must have changed from mandrake to mandriva for the 2005 LE version. i've got version 10, but i can't find the disk.
i'm very surprised mandrake gets 1 star and suse 10 gets 3 starts. suse 10 has tons of bugs. kdm doesn't work, beagle doesn't work as it should, the upgrade thingy in the panel refuses to go away, naultilus crashes after doing a search, etc. mandrake has always worked flawlessly for me. i guess that this is a candidate for the flame retardent :P

Keep in mind that my reviews are done on my hardware and I don't guarantee anyone else will get the same results with any one distribution. Also keep in mind these are more "rants" than "reviews" because they're by no means meant to be fair/balanced/etc...

On my hardware Mandrake 10 (both Community and Final) were completely unusable due to bugs, whereas SuSE 9-10 ran smoothly with no perceivable problems. To each their own.

yup, i had read and understood the blurb in the header section(the part where you gave an overview of your intentions for the reviews etc) intently before i read some of the reviews
