    Nothing is wrong going with ease of use; however, both vi and emacs have several features that make them much easier to use once you learn them, especially vi, though I'm biased I really like the coloring of text, codes, and markups. Vi and latex2e are extremely useful and powerful. Also, vi autosaves your changes, so if you forget to save your file you will be prompted of a newer version saved in swap that can be recovered. You can also move around in a document extremely fast with vi, there are largescale cutnpaste options, word search, spellchecker, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc...all hail vi!
