    VIM or Emacs?

    Yeah, there are many editors out there: vim, emacs, nano, pico, gedit, etc, etc, etc...but there are only two real editors. So which do you prefer?


    Me, Vi all the way!!! Never could stand emacs.

    Vim is the best by far. It is so easy to use once you know how and is not all that hard to learn.

    Yep, vim here too. I've never been able to figure out Emacs, so for the past few installs I've just left it out.

    Emacs, i hate vi, i can't use it, i have absolutly no idea what to do, it wont let me type anything, so i just don't use it, the reason i need to reinstall was because i couldn't use vi to edit the sudoers file and got so annoyed with it,i finally just used a normal text editor in X, and now it's all stuffed up ..oh, wait, thats not good
