Looks pretty good, but doesn't look like it is anything new, like the way xfce looks on default, though.

That is a common complaint -- people assume that just because it is a different distro that the DE/WM will be vastly different. It's just XFCE. XFCE on Gentoo is the same as XFCE on Slackware.

yep ive maintained it for years....its a pain, and i run fc4 on the lappy how ever i want a non-bloated distro with out too much being cut out. more power to games and other apps. It seems to come with ciro so itll be goot for offloading 2d graphics to my video card

I was referring to onlinebacon's comment, not yours.

KateOS 3.0 Live unable to connect to Internet

I have a cable internet connection via a wireless router. I have no trouble connecting to the internet either from a notebook that connects wirelessly to the router or from a PC connected to the router via a LAN cable. In particular, this LAN connected PC can connect to the internet when I boot the PC using several different Linux live CDs (e.g. SLAX, MEPIS etc.).

However, the KateOS 3.0 Live CD cannot connect to the internet. After the PC boots up, I run "netconfig" and select the DHCP option. After this the "ifconfig" command shows that the PC has received the correct IP address (192.168.2.2) but when I start Firefox I cannot connect to any web sites.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be??

It seems a great pity that KateOS is unable to connect to the internet while most other Live Linux CDs do this automatically without any configuration by the user.

    Thanks in advance

I like the little glider at the bottom!
