Maybe I read something wrong, but the FreeBSD site says 6.0 is the brand new -RELEASE version. I've been waiting for this for so long... Oh, and the FreeBSD foundation ...

    FreeBSD 6.0 Is Official??

    Maybe I read something wrong, but the FreeBSD site says 6.0 is the brand new -RELEASE version. I've been waiting for this for so long...
    Oh, and the FreeBSD foundation has chosen a new logo. I think it looks kinda funny... i'm just so used to beastie.

    I'm gonna miss the little devil dude. The new logo just hasn't got the character of the old.

    I know. I'm not a fan of the new logo either. I don't know why they had to replace it. They said the new logo will give them a unique name, but I don't know how Beastie wasn't already doing that.

    The stories I've read on it said Beastie is still the "mascot" just not the "logo". Sounds kind of wonky to me personally, but maybe that's just because I prefer Beastie to the new "corporate shiny" logo they've come up with.

    Just a guess, but they may view this as more politically correct for corporate demos and such. (Not that I agree with that sort of thing.)
