Whose side are Sony on?
Can anyone tell me which side of the fence Sony are on? first they install rootkits on the computers of people who buy their products and now they are one of the backers of the Open Invention Network.

They are buyin up both areas of real estate on either side of the fence to for their benefit. It's all about them. I see now that their rootkit has been exploited by a virus. Which they denied could ever happen.

It looks to me like they are on there own side. Which is not a problem.
I don't think I would like the idea of a program getting installed on my pc just because I played a Sony cd on it.

that is crazy. I can't believe sony is stupid enough to do that they are no better than those who plant viruses. spyware, and trojans on your computer when you perisously surf the net with windows.
But one bright spot from all of this is---------------->>>>>> ONE MORE REASON TO USE LINUXAll right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL

well remember, like all major japaniese coperations, there are different sections. the music section sounds like its just like all other music sections, just out to get ya. the console section is very close to opensource, they are seriously concidering puting GNU/Linux on all harddrives for the ps3. the electronics section is kinda weird. its expensive, but most (most) people find their products to be of the very best quality.
so its not like we can say sony is all gay and should be hated like microhrmfrrm, but remember that they are a corperation out to make money, if that means protecting there investments than thats what they have to do. i just wish that they could find a better way to do it.
besides, that cd was pretty retded anyway. i dont have to be one of those people to wory about it.nVidia G-Force 6600GT (bfg) pci-e: amd 64 2000+ (939): 1024 corsair ram: 2X 80gb seagate harddisk SATA: plextor cd/dvd-read/write cdrom SATA

I have no problem with any company protecting their investments, but not at the expense of my right to privacy. They just can't assume that you're guilty until proven innocent.
