not many, 1 or 2 per year on average...mostly just outside of dive bars...I think that they are quite fun, a good way to get the agression out...

I like the adrenaline, there isnt much adrenaline writing code, unless, your computer blows up and you have to escape from the burning building because you got a ...gulp...virus.
- 11-12-2005 #23Adrenaline also can cause bad breath

Maybe guys where I am are wimps...or maybe the girls are just manly...but here, I'd have to say that fights between girls are more aggressive than those between boys. Guys seem to have a kind of built-in respect and understanding. It's almost like we know certain rules to follow. But girls have no rules. It may be "funny" that they pull hair and whatnot, but they have no rules whatsoever. How often does a guy hit another guy in the balls? I rarely see it happen. A girl wouldn't think twice about it! Just saying what I notice here. It's not meant in any way to be a sexist remark.
- 11-12-2005 #27Yes, I can see how my 'tongue in cheek' remarks can be misconstrued. From what I have experienced, the only time a woman would end up fighting is in a situation where she was being attacked - so kneeing the balls is a pretty effective way of getting out of it

Recaling "The Noble Art of Fisticuffs" from one of the discworld novles, someone writes down all the rules as how to fight, and the respectable way to do it, but in a strategic sense this is useless. If you want to conquer a city, your going to do it by going through the weakest gate. So why is it that when it comes to male fights people never take this route, the'll atack the face, torso, and maybe the arms or legs, but never the balls...which is by far the weakest part of the male bady (trust me a few cricket balls there and you'll be in agony). So in that respect girls are far more ruthless, and more strategic in there fights, but boys will feel the need to follow "The Noble Art of Fisticuffs" (TNAoF)....anyway sorry about this weird rant, and I'm sure there are some girls that follow TNAoF, and some boys who don't.

Obviously men are more vulnerable to violence than women. My mom still works as a social worker and she meets a lot of victims of domestic violence. I guess there's just something different about the psychology of men that makes them that way. (Being a guy myself I'm probably blind to some of that.)
Of course, it's easy to get a guy off your back if he's bothering you, if you know where the achilles heel is...
- 11-13-2005 #30aye. i know what you mean too. that and hitting a guy stright center in the nose. both of those in my book are considered cheap shots. only reason i would think of hitting a guy in the balls would be if i was on the ground about to be curb stopmed or somehting. i have to admit that i too get a certian unexplainiable joy out of fighting. i think its a mix between aderiniline and other things. oh well.. dossnt happen too often
