Don't use Phlak, but I've always had a soft spot for Morphix which it is based on.

Yup I've used it. It does all the basic computer things, web/IM etc but the rest is really for security focussed tasks. There are one or two GUI tools but mostly these are things available on any distro (at least as a package) combined together. If your into security audits/penetration testing or are just a '1337 haXX0r' this should be a bit of fun at least if not useful. I usually check out latest releases on it, but it rarely holds my interest for more than an hour or two. I find slax with the appropriate modules to be just as effective and more of a jack-of-all-trades.

PHLAK is prett much a live CD with hacking tools on it, and I really dont think it is very good, much prefer morphix.

I used it and Knoppix STD a couple of years ago to get my feet wet before I installed Linux on my computer.
In that time, I've only ever had the GUI crash on me once, and it was while I was using PHLAK. At the time I didn't understand what had happened, and that was the last time I used PHLAK.
From what I remember, it had some really nice tools on it.
I think I need to download the latest, and start playing with it again.
