Do you have a middle name?

... and if so do you actually like your middle name? Go on, tell us what it is if you dare! Mine is Garth: it was a family surname which was at risk of dying out, so it was given to me as a standby.

In case of emergency, break the glass and call yourself Garth

According to my research the name Garth has several possible meanings:

    1. Old Norse for 'ravager'
    2. Another form of the name Gareth
    3. An enclosure in a field

If you don't like giving your name away in such a public place, how about telling us what you would call yourself if you had a choice? Just a thought.

Yes I do have a middle name, its Kenrick. But only family and close friends actualy know that. Not sure whether I like or dislike it. When writing my name I usually have "K" as my middle initial, but when anyone ask about it I always change the subject.

Yeah, this is what's interesting. Most people - including me - seem a bit embarassed by their 'other' name. Not sure why.

Believe it or not I was thinking of asking this question on the way to work this morning, and I thought about your typical 'national' names. Everyone in the UK is supposed to have a nice 'English' name like Dave, or Peter or Richard. In America it's Dwight C. Faffenberger the Second.

Chinese people in the UK tend to adopt anglo sounding names. So you might be called Tan Jin Haw, but "Please, call me Michael". In this country if your name is Julia Wapping-Smith Jones, it suggests there's money in the family.

    The possibilities are endless.

    Thanks
There's no real family importance with it though...it's just a name they thought sounded good. I'm happy with it

My middle name is Hendrix. It's my mother's family name. I will give it out to anybody that asks. Probably German.

I have a middle name which is from the Maginogion (Welsh Chronicles), and as with my other two names I'm proud of it.
