Percent Windows/Mac/Linux/etc. users
So I was pondering today...What percentage of computer users use Windows? What about Mac? And Linux? If I had to guess, I'd say a good 80% use Windows, but I'd like a more concrete answer than my own guess. Does anyone know where I could find this out? Thanks!

However, you have to remember that those are numbers going to W3School's site. I have a feeling that makes the # of GNU/Linux users higher than in reality.

A lot of poorer countries (no offense), and countries with a lower income average such as Asian countries, and South American countries are starting to turn to linux.
Its great!

These stats are from the February 2005 issue of Wired (there was an article on Firefox). They should still be fairly accurate:
Under "Desktop OS":
- Windows: 95%
- Linux: 3%
These stats were obtained from IDC, a market analysis group. It seems a bit odd to me that Linux (3%) should be more popular than Macs (some fraction of the remaining 2%), but so speak the statistics.DISTRO=Arch
