signed!!!. Open source introduced me to two of my favorite musical artists and a whole new world of music from japan. In the form of a Enlightenment theme. I love Ayumi Hamasaki, the Japanese form of Kyles or Madonna. And Love Psychodelic Orchestra. ( you can get there CD's on www.yesasia.com). If it was not for open source and the world community, this would not have happened ..... oh oh oh also I get my Esperanto CD's from Vinilcosmo in France !!!... again the world community gave me this (kurso). Freedom of choice creates competition, and increases service and reliability and new ideas to be shared (like science), without it we will pay a fortune for crap .... Hmm something familiar with that!!

Pétition demandant le retrait de l'ordre du jour
parlementaire du projet de loi DADVSI
Non au projet de loi DADVSI !
The first line means "petition asking for the removal of the
DADVSI law project from the parliamentary timetable".
The second line means "No to the DADVSI law project".
The reason why we ask for the removal of this project from
the timetable, is that it is scheduled on 2 consecutive
evenings, 20th and 21st December, when most MPs won't
be in parliament. (They'll be home preparing for Xmas).
Under pressure from Vivendi, the government has declared
this law to be urgent.
We are not against there being a law concerning copyright
protection.
We are against this particular law project. Because it just
says that any means of transmitting copyrighted information
over the web should be banned. So FLOSS (Free/Libre
and Open Source Software) should be banned. It's crazy.
People putting online means of transmitting/decrypting/
reverse-engineering copyrighted material would be
charged with forgery and risk going to jail.

So no http, no ftp and no ssh? The Internet is about to become illegal in France!

Madness, isn't it? If this law project passes into law and
is fully applied, yes, no more internet for us... Talk about
badly written laws!

- 12-10-2005 #28It won't happen because you can't run a modern economy without access to information. If that law was passed in the UK I would be out of work!
