    Cool class

The last night of my telecommunications class was last night. The instructor wanted to give us a lab on Linux. He had everyone that had one, bring a laptop and distributed knoppix to all. I supplied some ubuntu cd's I got from their free mailout.
Lots of people expressed an interest about learning more and just about everyone took home live cd's.
I'd like to see more IT classes do this sort of thing.

    nice
IMO starting wiht LiveCD's is a good start for most people - as it's a non-intrucive way to show people that it works and it not that different from what their used to (that is, one can get a GUI that most "uses PC to write stuff in an office application and checks mail and a little surfing" will have little problems navigating if they just realize that it's like windows with a good theme (well, at least that's what they'll see, althouhg, they'll ahve to wait for the (BSOD) screensaver to start before they see a (^H^Hn emulated) BSOD ))
