I already have my Ferrari , and a bit more than that... I just want the site to finance itself... That's it, no more, no less... And I have some new projects in mind, I need the website to finance itself to be able to make new projects... So don't worry, I don't really need people to be financing me
    I don't like Windows

    Okay that's fair enough.

Thank you! I thought I was one of the very few. Everywhere I go everyone is so anti-Microsoft. I actually like them..Xbox is awesome and Microsoft Office is a pretty good office suite (I am sure I will hear something about that).

I'm pretty anti-microsoft, however I do like their .NET framework, I love C# and .NET 2.0, if there was something like it(MONO DOES NOT COUNT!) for Linux, I could destroy the last bit of my M$ bone, except for when it comes to games.

Haven't made up my mind yet, I might let it become valid, but will have a poicy that users that have under 15 posts or something can not post there, which would limit spamers and people who join in for the lounge and would actually make them contribute a bit.
I would really like the Coffee Lounge rule to stay. There was (in my opinion) a big difference in the quality of the posts immediately after the rule was changed to discount CoffeeLounge posts from the post count, and I felt that the forum concentrated more on helping people with Linux issues instead of mindless posts designed to increase people's post count.

If you search through posts made before the rule change, you will see that there are a huge amount of nonsense posts that simply stopped immediately after they stopped counting towards how many penguins people have (the "what are you doing right now" thread is a good example of this -- it pretty much stopped dead after the rule change).

Please consider leaving this rule in place.

Not letting new users post to the Coffee Lounge won't stop spammers from posting in other forums such as Miscellaneous or Linux Newbie or wherever else they want.

I agree completely with smolloy. The coffee lounge is for distress, for enjoyment, but not for augmenting your post count. The latter is the main reason why some people want to see their coffee lounge posts re-validated. I don't mind people enjoying themselves - actually I encourage that - but there are lots of other forums to do it on... And the coffee lounge at times looked more like a spammed mailbox than a forum.

As for the new admin - I have been away for quite some time I must admit (I have been busy with managing the forum of my favorite distro). So I already got we got a new admin, I know it's nick by now :P. I suppose this means Jason left as an admin, or am I wrong?

Anyway, a warm (yet late) welcome to our new forum master...

And a word of Arabic: Shukran! Thank you for your work (and your constructive attitude in the discussions I recently read).

well on that subject the coffeeloons postcount thing should remain no postcount+1 because it has realy trimmed the idocy that was going on in there just, look in the loo... core to see how much crap landed in there every week and that is only from a few mod's that would actualy venture into the lounge at all and this didnt just happen at lfdo the postcount+1 nuking happened at a few other forums and was shown to stop most of the idocy. that said the spamming in the rest of the forums will continue and that is what the mod's are for .....too clean up the poop that lands here now and then

and anyways the forum is for help and helping of others in the persutie of running linux/nix systems not for chocking up as many posts as you can just to have more posts than the other guy :P while posting useless posts ...and the other thing the mod's now have time to actualy post again and not just be dealing with taking out the trash!! and passing out strait jackets

I guess that's what everyone wants, and since it hasn't been decided on before, we'll apply it

    Cheers CoreWizard!

Like I said, I really enjoy these forums a lot more now that the CoffeeLounge rule is in place, and I'm glad you've decided to keep it.
