VectorLinux games..
EHLO folks..
i compiled an LFS system.. wanted to put in some games.. but cant remember the name of the boardgame package that Vector had (I dont hav vector installed right now.. ). i felt it was excellent.. lots of boardgames in one.. if anybody can, pls pass on the name of that package.. Any suggestions to more games? I am a Age Of Empires freak..
. Something on those lines (strategy.. i mean) would also be great !! But not that heavy on resources too !! Graphics close to Civilization I (the early 16 color .. or so i guess..version.. ) would be great.

I always like to see a dungeon crawler on a distro. We had a discussion about Falcon's Eye in another thread (which I die on sooooo very much). My current fave is SlashEm which is another derivative of Nethack/Falcon's Eye. I hesitate to mention it though, because how do you install that on Vector? I ended up using an rpm package meant for Fedora ... which works perfectly.
SllashEm uses the gtk libraries and is fun to play. Check out this.
Edit: and try this too.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

thanks fingal.. I'll try both. FreeCIV was something i was looking out for and had jus slipped my mind of late..
incidentally i found the one i had seen on Vector. It was gtkboard. its got more than 30 boardgames. also i caught hold of patience.. well, that also has lots of card games.
hmm, i seem to like apps which are all-rolled-in-one kinds..
. well, Linux is partly responsible for that.. thats the reason i cant do without tabbed browsing on file manager as well as my web browser ..
