    What onlinebacon has in his favour is ... he's young. I reckon that's a good time to start something and be enthusiastic about it. There was an article in Linux Format a few months ago: an interview with Alan Cox the Welsh Linux hacker.

    When he was asked 'What makes a good programmer' he said, 'They tend to start young'. Part of the problem is to keep going and not feel discouraged.

    The programme says, the new one i did, insert name: foo
    Hello, foo

    And I have done a farenheit to celcius conversion and a normal hello world

    My advice: ignore any and all advice you're getting in this thread about which programming language to use. If you like C++, stick with C++ and pick up another language only if you feel like it. Programming languages all have their niche and all have their set of fans. The main thing I encourage is to keep up your enthusiasm.
