Maybe you could think about building one yourself? You could get a 64 bit motherboard for between £45-£50 and add on some cheap components to keep the price low. It would be very tight though. Maybe you could go to a CEX* store near you? You can trade old hardware/dvds etc. That way you could make a bit of money back to reinvest in your 133t box.

Computer fairs are good for picking up hardware as well. As long as you had a good board (onboard sound and graphics would keep the price down) decent memory (Crucial do good prices) the monitor would be quite expensive ... But if you shop around you can do okay ...

Why 64 bit though? I'm still using a 2 year old self built machine and it's fast ...

*Despite the name, they are okay.

Cos I am 14, and want to get the most of my money, I'm using an old 500mhz machine right now, its a lappy and the screen is slowly dying...

Would prefer if there was an option to make something small, anyone know how much it would cost to make a 64-bit lappy?

a 64bit lappy would cost a LOT, id guess that youd be lucky to get it under $1000. Id say build it yourself, see if you can pick up some used parts off of ebay.

Though i have to tell you, i have a 64 bit and a 32 bit system, and ATM, 64 bit offers no real advantages. In fact, my 64 bit seems less stable when running a 64 bit operating system. Id reccomend holding off on 64bit for now.

Ah, ok, it's just my computer now is dying

I just want something basic, so I guess I will try and make a nice shuttle pc, to make it small ( will take it to friends houses sometimes for lan parties) and try and keep the costs down. Thanks

Okay ... I think some of the costs on this site are in dollars, and you're a UK lad. I tried the following Google search. I'm so Boolean!

build OR building cheap OR "low cost" computer OR PC

And I found this: http://www.findcheapcomputers.com

i dunno how powerful you need it to be for your lan games but if size is more importnat than power go for a min-itx board. you can build a full machine for around £200 basic and theyre tiny.
www.ebuyer.com do mini itx boards and heres a link www.itx-warehouse.co.uk for another online store specialising in them.
