    Why do people/the media call George Bush "dubya"?

    What the bloody hell did i miss when i blinked? it seems like overnight he's been renamed, and i dont have a clue why

    He was differentiated from his father by being titled George W. Bush.
    Eventually the 'W' became the title, which degenerated into:
    'dubya'
    A play on his intelligence, I suppose.
