Inherited some stuff from work!
Well, I just started doing some real work at the college I work a few weeks ago when I took over for another assistant. I'm still doing through some of the stuff in the desks to see if I can clean it up a bit. Well, in one of the drawers I found a few thing that might be nice to play with doing the winter break (and this would fit right into that "you're a nerd if" thread). Anyway, this is a list:
- roughly 30 IC chips: anything from a 7410 NAND gate to a 4016 Quad Bilateral Switch (I'm not that nerd, I'm just reading it from a list);
- A fairly nice bread board;
- A CD labeled "Intructor's CD-ROM: MC68HC12 An Introduction: Software and Hardware Interfacing".
So I was thinking that maybe I could do something with the IC chips since I already have everything I need to make them work. I might skim a little through the 62HC12 guide, I've looked at it and it's really interesting. I was wondering if you guys know any place (on the net) that would be helpful in making just random crap with the IC chips?

I don't really know what they are but you should build a robot that can travel faster than the speed of light

Care to post a list of all the ICs?
Are you wanting to build stuff with or without the MC68HC12 microcontroller?

Well, not really anything with the 68HC12 as of yet! I still have no idea how it works, or how to program it. I'm looking for stuff that will let me do something with the other ICs.
Here's a complete list of what they are:
1 7410
2 74121
1 74LS00
1 74LS02
1 74LS04
1 74LS05
1 74LS08
1 74LS10
1 74LS11
1 74LS27
1 74LS32
2 74LS74
4 74LS76
1 74LS83
1 74LS86
2 74LS90
2 74LS93
1 74LS125
1 74LS138
1 74LS151
4 74LS194
1 CD4016
1 CD4023
And that's it! I found a pretty good site for getting info on them, but I still don't know how I'd use them.
