    New Linux user...

So... My missus sees me using Linux continuously (even when we're playing games such as Neverwinter Nights) on the laptop, and gets kinda curious.

Then I show her the Gimp, 'cos she likes playing with photography. And she mentions the KDE and Gnome games, and I show her XFce, and she's kinda taken.

To cut a long story short, we're now installing Fedora Core 4 onto her PC alongside Windows XP, so she can get her hands on all these goodies. She insists that it's purley for the Gimp... but I know the truth. She wants what we all want. Freedom from tyranny. No more bars at the Windows, removal of the Gates. A large key for the chains of slavery.

So welcome, Tracey, to the wide wide world of Linux.

PS. I've told her that she's to do her own sysadmin. I can do it for her, but then she learns nothing...

If she wanted it just for the Gimp, you do know that you can install it on windows aswell :P

But, it's a good thing that she's on linux now!

I did tell her than Gimp is available on windows, but I think she's a little jealous because I change my login screen weekly, and I currently have 3 different desktop environments to suit my mood or need.

I wish my wife would allow me to install Linux on her computer, it might mean she spends less time on mine! She hardly ever uses her own computer anymore and professes that Linux is stupid, but that doesn't stop her from playing games on it.
