Is There a Store In New York City Selling Linux Distributions on Disks ?

I would like to buy a bunch of different Linux distributions to be able to put them into my CD drive to see what they look like and to try to be able ( hopefully ) to grasp some of the posts within this forum. Is there a store in New York City that sells Linux distributions ?

There's a Linux Users Group (LUG) in NY: http://www.nylug.org/home/index.shtml

They might be the best people to ask.

    Thanks Fingal,

Most of their listed Email address are no longer operative. I am much too uniformed about Linux for these developers to really be bothered with.

Okay. I had a look on Google and there don't seem to be many Linux vendors in NY! There is this though http://www.isoc-ny.org

You could also use the Distrowatch site to find Linux distributors: http://distrowatch.com

I know Best Buy has SuSE 10.0 CDs for sale. I assume there is a Best Buy in NYC.

Best buy is where I purchased the Suse Linux 10 that I am now using. Best buy sells this distibution but their clerks as well other clerks in computer stores know less about Linux than I do.
I had assumed that there just must be someplace in New York City where Linux distribution disks are sold.

Please let us know if you find anywhere in NYC that sells distros! I can't believe they aren't really easy to come by. Maybe Linux isn't seen as a good commercial bet, but I would think there's a business opportunity waiting for someone. Here in the UK I've had to stop buying so many Linux magazines because my flat is full of disks!
