Keyloggers are notorious for being spyware-ridden.
If you are going to install one, use it at your own risk.
A remote webcam viewer would probably illegal to use. I'm not sure myself.
If you are serious about this, then you may want to install retail child monitoring software, since it will send you a report on everything the user has done.
And if you seriously suspect infidelity, you'd have much better luck hiring a private investigator that knows what they are doing instead of you making an ass of yourself trying to wire a webcam in public.

if you suspect infidelity just start saving for a divorce lawyer. really if you think about it if this person is cheating on you they are already doing so and finding out now or a month from now isnt going to make a difference. plus you might look at what makes you think there is infidelity going on. more often it is common to see stuff that is not there. and if there is nothing there then you can quite possibly make an ass of your self spying on your spouse(or loved one) and have it turn out quite innocent. if there are some serious signs then proceed to a private detective to look into it. dont be surprised either way.

    Thumbs down

I don't know why you think spying before asking is the best way to do it. Some of the things you want to do might actually be illegal violations of her privacy. Net nannies and activity monitors are meant for use by adults who are responsible for the well-being of children. Children don't have all the privacy rights that adults do in those situations.

Plus, if you're wrong and she finds out what you've been doing (and covering your tracks isn't as easy as TV makes it look), you've betrayed her trust in you, not the other way around. Congratulations.

Come to think of it, even if you're right, do you think you're going to approach her about it with proof and have a chance of actually resolving the issue? "Honey, I've been spying on you and I know you've been going around with other guys." That'll go over well. If I were her I'd be leaving right then.

People who use spy equipment and private detectives for this sort of thing aren't thinking about long-term consequences. If you do this and she finds out, you will lose her. Why not just ask her if she's up to anything? That way, you at least have a chance of mending things, whether you're right or wrong in your suspicions. But if you spy on her, you're automatically as sneaky and untrustworthy as she is.

Technology is great and makes you feel smart when you can use it, but whether it's a webcam or a flaming stick, you have to have a sense of ethics and some foresight.

    Isn't that a Microsoft/Windows default built-in feature?

(Oh, I'm sorry - it sends your data to someone else, and you have no control over it...)

Before anyone lights a match -- this is just a joke -- but, it should make you think -- how would you really know??? Are you sure???

Windows product activation is a pain in the ass. I paid 300 dollars for an OS I can't even install more than 10 times or on a system with dual processors and that comes with absolutely no real programs. I can pay 50 dollars, or NOTHING, for SUSE 10 and get an OS that I can install as many times as I want and get loads and loads of FREE extras... but let's not get too off-topic.
Anyway, this is a tough issue to tackle. She WILL NOT be honest with you if you ask her. If you honestly ask somebody "did you rob the bank?" do you really think they will be honest with you??? NO, they will answer back with something like"OH MY GOSH how could you even suggest such a thing?!" to make you feel bad you even asked, even though they probably did rob the bank... I still recommend a PI, but FIRST you should try saying something like "hey honey I'm taking Wednesday off from work!" and if she says something like "NO NO NO, I don't want you staying home!" then you can be pretty sure she's up to something...

Thanks for that Windows rant Chopin, i didn't expect that from you, i though you loved windows XP. Well, i guess that there is always a first

I am beggining to wonder if capt_pak will ever actually respond back to this thread. You would imagine, that he should be a little more active, if he is really worried about this issue.

The privicy thing only applies when it is not your own computer. I would not do it unless it is your own computer, as yes it is illegal.

It not my business but if you do suspect dishonesty I would be very very careful, and try to find an alternative way of bringing the matter up...prefrably with out saying you suspect your spouse.
