i suppose i got lucky
when i first heard about linux my mom let me try to install it on her computer
i failed miserably and managed to overwrite her windows partition
she didnt let me try linux for another couple of years after that
however last year she agreed that i knew enough to try again, i got linux installled on her computer and she's been using it regularly for about 9mo now
and my dad recently bought a new computer with lindows installed on it
he didnt like the whole cnr thing, so he had me install fedora on it

That's what frustrates me. People think they need AOL and prebuilt computers because they can't do it themselves when really building your computer is easy as pie these days. sure it was hell 15 years ago when you had to have a jumper configuration bible to build one correctly. but now it's just stupid to use all of this "we'll do it all for you!" stuff like AOL and Dell... people have really gotten dumber over time. In 15 years I'm predicting that we won't be able to build systems anymore because all of the computing dumbasses are buying Dells. It was a bad idea to make computers for the average person.
