Hockeys big in Canada as you all know, and we were'nt even supposed to win a medal this year, as our team had few big names. Hi - What's it like living in Newfoundland? I watched a film over Christmas which was set there: "The Shipping News." I found it strangely haunting and disturbing. Ever seem that film?

i've heard of the film, but haven't gottne around to it. it was written by a newfoundlander too I believe. Well, Newfoundland has lots of history. The community in which I live is the first permanent English settlement in Newfoundland and have a staggering populating of 800 lol. Newfoundland consists mainly of many little communities such as this. Our capital has a population of around 55, 000 i'm pretty sure and is a pretty nice place. Newfoundland has a great culture which we incorporate into our music and stories. We are great storytellers, many of the stories revolving around the Fairies or ships lost at sea. The band called Great Big Sea is from Newfoundland, and their old albums have a Newfoundland flare to them.

I know we weren't favoured but I knew we would do it. Now it's time to get ready for Turino...

yes i really meant ice hockery, as i'm from canada and the other 2 types of hockey aren't that common over here. in italy, Canada will probably be the favorite as we have a very strong olympic team. should not be much competition from the usa :P.
