Totally right - It's about confidence.

Sorry to hear that. I've been there and it's always unpleasant.

Care to elaborate on that? Surely your wife was your date/girlfriend before you were married. Unless you just met her and proposed on the spot?

As a devout Muslim pre/extra marital relationships are strictly forbidden (as are pre/extra marital sexual interaction). As a result I was ‘introduced’ to my wife and after speaking to each other 3 or 4 times (in her home, with her parents being in the next room) we decided to get married.

Many people like to refer to it as arranged marriage. I prefer to use the term ‘Assisted’ marriage’ as the final decision was absolutely mine and my wife’s

Well that's certainly a different world than the one I grew up in. So different in fact that I find myself incapable of intelligent comment. Best of luck to you both.

one of my muslim friends was saying that they tend to work out better. she has a point in a way, because too many people get married because they think they're in love or because they look to the other person to give them happiness. arranged marriages are more based on commitment. i know that neither way is perfect and they both have their downfalls.

    sorry to hear that techieMoe.

Maybe you are one of the lucky ones that know why you broke up, 'cause sometimes they just leave you there thinking "what just happened ? "

You know, i always wondered about women. but now i dont wonder anymore, it was getting too hard on my sanity. so now i just say "yes" . . . err . . . i dont know, it works with my wife at least
