Well, since the last one I've reinstalled and switched distros, I'm using mandrake 9.2 right now, and gnome. so I'll post my new desktop

As you can see, its purpose isn't really to win a prize. I just keep some panels to have applets on, but other than that I want them to stay out of the way, since I want to maximize my emacs workspace.

Unfortunately, I broke many applets when I recompiled them (I had adapted them to work better with Linux 2.6)... I have to check out how to properly install applets, because right now, bonobo can't seem to find them.

Ok here they are (just a side note, no, I haven't started that many windows to show off - it's my work 'n' surf enviroment )

I shrunk the images by 50%:
