    Well, here is my latest in my ever changing dekstop. Here I have xfce 4.3.0 (svn). I love the bleeding edge, what can I say?

    Sorry it has taken me so long to respond...

    I do see a speed increase when using something like openbox or fluxbox. Its not as much as I used to see on the older releases though because the latest Mepis and kde seem to be getting faster.

    Distro = ArchLinux
    Window Manager = Gnome
    Window border = Moreindustrial
    Controls = Milke 2.0
    Icon theme = Dropline Neu

    EDIT: I recently got Xgl working now with Gnome

    Distro = ArchLinux
    X Server = Xgl
    Window Manager = Gnome

    It runs very very fast/smooth. What you see is 3 videos playing simultaneously across two different desktops. I then changed the transparency on them and rotated the desktop slightly when i took this screenshot. the videos were still playing smoothly when i did this

    Very nice screenshot josolanes, and cool effect in the second shot! I'm generally not a Gnome user but I'm looking forward to trying Gnome 2.14 when it's released in a few days. Hopefully it'll appear in the Arch repo right away.
