    A little 64-bit help?

    Hey everyone,

I just got like $450 for xmas ( or like 270 GBP) and I want something 64-bit for my computing needs. At first I thought to get a SPARC, but since I am not allowed the net in my room there seems to be little point in having one there.

Does anyone know if there is a cheap 64-bit PDA, or small computer ( like a laptop) that will just work, and be able to run linux/bsd or solaris on it, so I can do some coding, web surfing on it around the house?

    Thanks

    James

You could buy a copy of Micro Mart and take a look in there. Just make sure that if you respond to an ad you don't get ripped off.

    Already had a look

Just looking for a PDA that is 64-bit really, hope to have a keyboard but you usually can get external ones.

    Anyone know of any?

Not a PDA but I'm having trouble sleeping tonight, so I was flicking through Micro Mart: a company called AC Computer Warehouse are selling an AMD Sempron 64 2600 ATX Midi Tower for £239.00

    Tel: 0161 476 2220

It has 3 years warranty on it and has a Windows pre install for you to happily wipe off. I realise that all you want from life is a PDA, but at that price you might be interested? The catch is, no monitor but you can't have everything.

Now I need to sleep again! If that company have sold out of the above, you could ask them if they have anything else.

PS: If you abandon the idea of 64 bit they also sell Dell Lattitudes for about £265.00

If price is your baby rather than 64 bits, then look at this with Linux pre-installed for only £130+vat

I've looked into PDAs running Linux and decided that:

Either they're only available in Japan or
    They're very expensive.
