Fedora Core 5?

Oh, and distrowatch says that it's using the "PUP" package manager. Does this replace YUM? Or have they just renamed the Yellow-Dog Updater to a prettier name?

PUP is just a yum front-end.

I tried FC5 T2 and it installed relatively fine until the first reboot at which point it completely locked up on the part where it tries to bring up the network. It sat for like an hour and I had to shut it down hard to get it to stop. I tried rebooting again and same thing. I will be waiting until it is officially released this time. The anaconda installer looks like it has a few holes to.

It sounds like it's still in a beta stage now then.
