    Return of the Jedi.

I mean, it's the thrilling conclusion, with huge space battles, an awesome lightsabre fight, and, of course, Vader's return to the light.

    How can you beat that?

On another note, I was talking to a friend of mine, and she pointed out that if kids watch Star Wars from 1-6 (instead of 4-6, 1-3), then the line "I am your father" is going to be pointless. Despite that it is one of the greatest movie lines of all time.

Yep ... I'm about to watch it again so please excuse my absence for quite a while.

I'm not a big Star Wars fan, and haven't seen the original movies in a while, so some of it might have slipped my mine.

I voted for the original of the originals, A New Hope. To me it was a pretty close tie between Return of the Jedi and A New Hope, but you just can't beat how A New Hope is a lot fresher. In my opinion, Harris Ford's greatest acting job was done in this movie.

The new episodes (1, 2, 3) went into a whole new level of SciFi which doesn't quite interest me. Natalie Portmann is hot, and that was probably the only reason I went to the movie to watch them.

That's a good point, and I had never thought about it that way. That line is in fact one of the greatest, if I'm not mistaken it's in "AFI's 100 Greatest Movie Lines" list (there was a show a few months ago).

My favourite is Return of the Jedi, so far none of the star wars movies has been able to top it.

I really don't like 1 - 3 that much, it is too much about special effects and hardly any story.

return of the jedi is my favorite by a little but all three originals are great. I also liked the last one that was released it seemed George Lucas was coming back to his roots with some decent storytelling unlike number 1 and 2.

Yep, RotJ for me. Its that scene where they're flying through the trees on the bikes that I love. And the bit at the start where Leia has very little on. And Luke's fight with Vader at the end. And the big space battle scenes at the end. The irony is I still think the ewoks spoil it.

Just to spoil everyones fun, my fave would have to be No.3 RotS. But then i just love movies where evil prevails, feel free to call me a twisted psycho - I'm used to it. I'd really like to see all six put on as an all night movie marathon, you don't need sleep when Star Wars is playing.

BTW, did anyone here queue for ages to see the midnight screenings? 8 hours was the longest I queued, but I know some people camped out for a week.

I saw Episode 3 on the second day it was out, didn't bother with the whole 'see it asap' thing.

Episode 3, I felt, had the worst acting I've ever seen in an SW movie. It is so wooden and unemotional that it really ruined the movie for me.
