    The splash screen was preventing me from getting into the BIOS (or at least, it doesnt say what key to use to get in to BIOS, and none of the obvious keys (del, the f1-12, esc) seemed to work). However, just whacking random buttons eventually caused it to say there'd been a keyboard error, which in turn gave a better boot up screen with some of the normal details - it's a 500MHz proc.

    To everyone on the subject of power: I don't think I'll really have much of a problem once I get another gang - there's currently a socket with only a two-way adaptor in it, so if I swap that for a 6- or 8-way gang I shouldn't have too much trouble - it's just remembering to go and buy it that's the tricky part
