    Firefox Chinese Support (SOLVED)

I keep trying to read Chinese (traditional mandarin) pages on Firefox, but all it displays is question marks in place of the actual charachters. I can't find anything about language packs on Firefox... does anybody have information?

I could read chinese fine on my computer, well, until it broke, now nothing's working. But it can be done. From what I've seen, fx 1.5 doesn't have any language packs, you may just need to install a chinese font.

I fixed it. Note that my solution was under Windows and not under Linux. I'm not keen at all on installing fonts. I've never understood why people need to install new fonts unless they are using a different alphabet (like in my case) or the fonts they use are really ugly. But for the latter, I never notice how fonts look. I've never spent hours on font sites. Anyway all I did was visit the same site in Internet Explorer. (My computer is too slow to have Linux as my main OS.) It asked me if I wanted to install the Chinese language pack. I had previously believed that these were IE-only font packs, but apparantly they constitute as Windows-universal packs. I rebooted and Firefox is now able to display charachters.
I don't know if anybody is interested in reading that little tutorial since it is Windows-only.
    Oh well.
I do have to wonder how the same would be done in Linux though.

The way that I accomplished this is by simply installing a Chinese font. In Gentoo, it was a simply emerge command, but I can't find the website. The font was created by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and is public domain.
