Is alcohol a conductor? Might it be possible to use whisky as a cooling agent, like cooking oil? Just curious.

- 02-07-2006 #7Ok, so drinkable alcohol is out. What about the pure stuff? And I didn't do so well in chemistry or physics, but isn't a bad conductor what you want?

I just love what some of those guys do with these mini-ITX boards. There's some links on www.mini-itx.com with different projects that people have done. Some of them are really original.
That's not entirely true! Water is, in fact, a really good conductor of heat. And pure water (just H2O) is not a conductor of electricity. Since whisky is a distilled drink, it's water base might not have the conductive elements on it. I'm not sure if alcohol is conductive though.

Wow....that's all I got. That is amazing.
I thought of a long time ago building a head out of lego and having the CD/DVD-ROM in the mouth so it looks like a tounge when it's ejected. You could have fans for the eyes and USB ports in the nose....
