Question Computer Burnout: does it get to you, too?

Maybe it's just that I'm spending far too much time on computers (about fourteen hours or more per day) that's causing the burnout that seems to hit me for at least a few hours each month, and sometimes for as much as a full day, or two.

How about the rest of you? Does computer burnout ever get you down at times, or are you always hyped up and ready to give more of your time to your computer?

14 hours a day on my computer [drooooooool], in my dreams.
I have a job that takes an hour to get ready for and go to, half an hour to return home.
I have to sleep 7/8 hours a day.
And i do have to go and eat some time.
There goes 17, only leaving 7 to be on my computer.

I'm on the computer about the same as ozar, and yes I get sick of it about once a month and I'll go take a walk or something. However, I usually am away from my computer all night, hanging out with friends and sleeping and all...

I do get burned out, yes. It's a problem at this time of year with low light levels, commuting, pressures of work etc.

When you feel like that it's time to take a break. I usually do a few yoga sessions, and that helps a lot. Going for walks is good, and anything to make you feel 'connected' again.

Actually I've found that if I have a problem, I've usually worked it out by the end of a walk.

I'm only looking at about 2-5 hours on my pc per day. I have school from 7am to 3pm (including waking up and bus rides) then i always have homework and have to eat also. Plus I try to get in bed around 12 each night. But in the summer, I would get burnt out every 2,3 or 4 days. I could literally spend all day on my PC.

Yes. I work 8-10 hours a day at several PCs as a computer operator. I love it, but often I will have something I want to do on my home PC, but by the time I get home, I just lose any enthusiasm I might have had. So, most of my personal computing is done on my days off. Guess I'm just getting old.....sigh.

I'm about the same. Since my job has me on a computer all day, I tend to lose interest in doing stuff on my computer when I get home (not to mention my wrists need rest). On the weekends I hike up to my parents' house and use their broadband connection though.

I'm usually not 14 hours at the computer a day (in vacations it happens, but not in the normal year). I use the computer about two hours before homework, then I do my homework and use the computer some more after homework...

But yes I get burned out, and it makes me dangerous in front of the box ... That's the cause of many harddrive formats and reinstalls... One time I ended up not booting the box for about two months :O

I'm most dangerous when I'm bored; that's when I start digging through my CDs looking for distros to play with and end up wiping my harddrive a few times.

Hanging out with friends and sleeping are pretty much all I do away from my computer. Oh and school work...can't forget that .

I use my laptop in all my lectures, do all my notes and assignments on here and play the occasional game or head over to kontraband (www.kontraband.com). I live in front of this thing!

As for burnout...not really. I do other things during the day so I balance my computer use with that. Plus, I don't really have a choice...I have so much I have to do on my computer.
