i heard fc5 is supposed to com out this wendsday any one elce hear that? any one beta tested it yet? hows it run... my suse box just crashed so ...

    so uhh... FC5 on wendsday da?

    i heard fc5 is supposed to com out this wendsday any one elce hear that? any one beta tested it yet? hows it run... my suse box just crashed so i wanna try i t out on there before i (if i even do) put suse back on. i was a red hat guy from 6-9 then i stopped when it turned into fedora... for some reason im excited about this new one tho... i have good feelings about it. anyonelce know anything about it? -ZAc

    No, right now it's planned to come out next Monday (March 20).

    uhhh man... the 20th.... well least its not like another 3 months or somehitng... oh well one more week. i duno why but for some reason im excited about this one... better be good or ill be kinda pissed.. -ZAc

    Its supposed to come out with every 2 releases of Gnome. 2.14 comes outta tomorrow (15th) and FC4 shipped with 2.10

    is there a way to upgrade from fedora core 4 or do we have to do a fresh install?

    If FC5 is like previous Fedora Core releases, then yes, you should be able to simply upgrade all your packages and not do a complete reinstall. I personally find I have less issues with a clean install than an upgrade on any distro, though.

    Are you going to review it like previous releases Moe. i will look forward to it if you do. Also btw the next minor release of suse will be arriving soon. april 14 i believe is when the 10.1 Open Suse will be released.

    I have mechanisms in place (read: friends with broadband) that I hope will allow me to get copies of Fedora Core 5 and SuSE 10.1. As soon as I receive them, I will certainly be reviewing them. (Or ranting about them... depending on how good they are.)
