I was reading in a recent article on the power consumption of computers, a report on the effect of newer processors and the amount of power being used. You see in the past CPU developers such as Intel and AMD have not worried alot about the power consumption that their processors have taken up with the exception of a few mobile processors. That is until recently when for example, Intel had to recall over 200 million dollars worth of computer servers running their Intel Xeon processors from one university. The university had to run off of it's old servers that the new ones were suppose to replace and had to turn on it's air conditioners in the facility were the new ones were placed too cool down the servers. The price of power the new servers consumed added to millions of dollars for the university. So I guess my question is if you are worried about the power consumption that yours or new computers may have on power consumption and in what way do you see the developers of such processors doing to counter this.
