Linux Format Magazine
this is wierd but i bought a Linux format magazine that had a dvd in it. well i take it to work and guess what its blank. i thought maybe it was in a wierd directory structure windows doesnt read. so i used isobuster and then booted my vmware player with slax and still nothing. it actually acts like there is no media in the drive. so i thought maybe something was wrong with the cdrom being virtualized so i had another cd sitting around and i mounted and could see the stupid files. has anyone ran into this with those free cds or am i missing something?

Sounds like you got a misprint. You might be able to write in to the magazine and get a new one.

I buy this magazine regularly (usually the DVD version) and I've only had one turn out bad in that it would not install OpenSuSE correctly. They put out some nice CD/DVD's. However, there is an address listed in the back in case you get a bad one. Though I have to say they are based in the UK, so it might be a long wait for the replacement disk.

so as a computer person i feel stupid. I thought for sure i had a dvd-rom/cd-recorder but apparently i only have a cd-recorder. the computer here at work doesnt have a dvd-rom. i assumed it did. my co-worker has a dvd-writer so he put it in his PC and sure enough all the files are there.
